Jeffrey Brown

producer Listopad, Punk In Africa; co-producer No No: A Dockumentary

Jeffrey Brown has produced a number of award-winning films in Europe, Africa and the USA. His Czech narrative feature Mamas & Papas won Best Film and Best Script at the 2010 Hamptons IFF while Shut Up and Shoot Me, a Czech–British co-production, won Best Narrative Feature at the 2007 AFI Dallas IFF. He executive produced Academy Award-winning Czech director Jan Sverak’s Kooky, Special Jury Prize Winner at the 2010 Karlovy Vary IFF. His African films have included the music documentaries Durban Poison, Punk in Africa (2012 Austin Film Festival) and the recently completed Pirating Pirates, a feature documentary on Somali pirates.  He is Co-Producer of No No: A Dockumentary, which premiered at 2014 Sundance Film Festival and was recently released theatrically and on VOD, and produced The Grove, Texas, winner of Best Texas Film at this year’s Hill Country Film Festival.  He is currently completing a documentary on Czech underground music and art, and his narrative feature Listopad on the Czech Republic's Velvet Revolution premieres at this year’s Austin Film Festival.  Brown lectures at the Prague Film School and splits time between Prague, Czech Republic, where he lived for 20 years, and Wimberley, TX, in the Texas Hill Country.
