writer Looking for Lions
Tenacity and resilience have been the hallmarks of Norman Lesperance’s career. While studying at Brooks Institute of Photography, Lesperance co-wrote, produced and directed his first feature film as well as writing and producing a Vietnam/Twilight Zone-style short.Following a grueling stint in the music video and commercial world, Lesperance found his way back into narratives by directing Pact, which garnered awards for Best Editing and Best Actor on the festival circuit.Since then, Lesperance has spent much of his time writing, penning, optioning and selling multiple screenplays including: Screams and Shadows,  Acheron and Catastrophe (winner of two screenplay awards). He has developed projects for Mandalay Entertainment, Broken Road, Imagine, Troll Hunter director Andre Ovredal and acclaimed comic book artist Rob Prior. In recent years, he has returned to set, writing and directing the award-winning black comedy, Killing Tarantino, and then writing and producing the dark love story, Savage, which evolved into his feature screenplay for Looking for Lions (premiering here at AFF). He is also currently in post-production on another project, Maudite, a horror film he helmed in August.
