Recently named California Teacher of the Year, Mitch Carter (Matt Letscher, "Her") shares the halls of Truman High with the school’s eccentric faculty: ambitious Principal Ron Douche (Keegan-Michael Key, "Key & Peele"), stern Dean of Students Marv Collins, hyper-competitive Robotics teacher Stephen Queeg, and incompetent twin college counselors Clive and Lowell Hammer. Soon after winning the award, Mitch receives an attractive job offer which will force him to quit his job, and finds himself torn between financial security for his family and his love of teaching.
